Experiencing nature, always carries along with it, romantic qualities, appreciation, longing, bliss and love. Some innate relationship within our own consciousness, ties our feelings to nature. We need nature more than otherwise. Loving like a mother, hence the term mother nature. Through our journey into the so-called civilisation, as we saw ourselves struggling in making all sacrifices of the treasure we owed from the next generation, and yet, still, soothing our eyes, the nature is ever forgiving, smiling with full of life, and we regret and realize our responsibilities. The harmonious blend is the precious tradition we should preserve, for that is the meaning of humanity. We should value more on our unity with nature than only to be exploited for personal gain.
G13 Gallery invites you to experience the appreciations on life and nature’s balance in “TOWARDS SERENITY”, a painting exhibition by 5 local renowned painters; Keng Seng Choo, Fong Kim Sing, Calvin Chua, Tean Wei Gin, and A. S. Kang.
Other than sharing the same passion on the bliss from life and nature, all of them also hailed from same part of he country, Kedah Darul Aman. Keng Seng Choo is mostly recognized by his series of stylized rural women figures. Fong Kim Sing’s works blend natural subjects subtly into semi-abstraction that evoke the sense of tranquillity. As for Calvin Chua, who is the Vice President of Malaysian Watercolour Society (MWS), pursue his affection towards his childhood memories as portrayed in his recent River Series. The works of Tean Wei Gin focuses on his admiration upon the beauty of floral subjects. Expressive quality brushstrokes by A. S. Kang create dynamic glimpses of his favourite subject, the koi fishes.
This exhibition honours the inseparable symbiosis between human and nature; how far we’ve come towards appreciating our life in nature, that sometimes we even seek refuge in it, from the harsh and rising stone-city life.
